Monzon & Son Enterprises is a family owned business based in Lynwood in the Los Angeles Area. The company can “Truck It All” as their new website name, www.wetruckitall.com, suggests.
Monzon & Son Enterprises began as a small enterprise with a single truck yard. In a short time, they grew and moved operations to an all-in-one unit where they house their administrative office and an equipped garage. The fully staffed team includes top rate mechanics, a fleet manager, an estimator and the management team.
“I first met the owner, Kelvin Monzon, when he was just building the company up from the ground, setting it up to offer basic industry services, to haul dirt. His goal at that point was to locate a new yard for his trucks. He, along with a small team had a vision for growth, a vision to provide superior and reliable construction trucking services. Their goal was simple: haul dirt from construction sites in the Greater Los Angeles Area, but the steps were important to get right and they understood that,” says Hema Dey, CMO for Monzon & Son Enterprises.
Two and a half years ago, the company moved from Los Angeles to Lynwood, and have made it a priority to invest in proper equipment and the right people every step of the way. The company began with three people and has since scaled to include over 40 employees to support their operations. With ten people on the administrative staff, six mechanics and nearly 30 drivers, they are able to have full control over their deliveries as well as offer full turnkey service to their customers. At the moment, they are in the process of expanding their resources in order to meet customer demand. The expansion will include up to 35 drivers, more trucks and trailers per the demand of their consumer base.
They have a distinct advantage, unlike many construction trucking firms in the industry, in that they don’t depend on subhaulers or subcontractors which allows them to maintain direct control over their delivery and overall services. Project managers can rest easy that the job will get done! The company prides itself on being able to offer a diverse range of construction trucks. They currently own and operate 30 bottom dumps, 15 end dumps, 10 super-10’s, 10 flat beds, lowbeds, maintained to the highest standards. All their dirt trucks are CARB/ PORT compliant.
Monzon & Son Enterprises also employs a Community Leader, who coordinates the company’s contributions to ensure they give back to the local community through charities and associations, among which is the National Association of Minority Contractors – Southern California chapter (NAMC). The NAMC is a nonprofit trade association that supports the business development needs of over 5,000 minority contractors throughout the U.S. They also support the Western State Trucking Association (WSTA), who advocate and promote safety regulations on behalf of small business truckers.
In less than three years, Monzon & Son Enterprises has grown significantly and is becoming one of the largest Greater Los Angeles construction trucking companies, with DBE, SBE, MBE, LBE and other local certifications, and now serves construction projects throughout Southern California. Key development projects they have served in Southern California include hauling dirt at the Gerald Desmond Bridge in Long Beach, the Thomas Fire Clean Up in Ventura, Santa Barbara and most recently projects in the Inland Empire and Orange County Area. Currently the company is wrapping up a 5,000-load concrete job and is about to begin work on a new freeway enhancement project.
They welcome new clients, and look forwarding to working with those interested in working with a growing firm. Their professionalism and commitment to safety, integrity and excellence provides a foundation that has enabled them to support the increase in construction projects that Los Angeles has seen in the past few years.
